Rifle: A gun, especially one fired from shoulder level, having a long spirally grooved barrel intended to make a bullet spin and thereby have greater accuracy over a long distance.

Semiautomatic: A gun that uses the energy of the fired cartridge to cycle the action of the firearm and advance the next available cartridge into position for firing. One cartridge is fired each time the trigger of a semi-automatic weapon is pulled.
Rifle (assault): Assault rifles are a short, compact, selective-fire firearm that must have at least all the following characteristics:
It must be capable of selective fire. It must have an intermediate-power cartridge: more power than a pistol but less than a standard rifle or battlefield rifle. Its ammunition must be supplied from a detachable box magazine. It must have an effective range of at least 300 metres (330 yards).
